Zcaldon is a gnome spellcaster which together with Varvevan and Xvavos formed a band of heroes beloved for helping those in need in Horiza, and specifically, Friedport.
Another fourth member, Maca Katja, had once been part of the group and romantically involved with Zcaldon, but was abandoned after it was revealed she suffered from Lycantrophy. They would eventually face eachother again as Maca sought revenge, but after being stopped by the The Landcrab Plot the two eventually made up and she re-joined the party of heroes.
Zcaldon suffers from insomnia, and a form of narcolepsy brought on by it. While asleep, Zcaldon’s subconscious can activate magical shadow tentacles much stronger than he can while awake, often automatically attacking those whom approach him or try to awaken him. Zcaldon is joined by a shadowy familiar called Nitre (Familiar), which looks like a tiny strange combination of an owl and a bear.
