When the insectoid and rock or metal-like dwarves die, their bodies harden instead of rotting away, becoming as statues. While other cultures may find it disturbing to exist around what are technically corpses, it is the traditional dwarven custom to allow the dwarven statues to continue existing somewhere it may be seen - though often while remaining but a small part of a natural environment. Lone statues may be found in certain woods and on cliffsides, for instance. Some dwarves wish for their tools and belongings to be left with them, hoping someone’s encounter with them will inspire them to pick up their tools and create something.

Some dwarven statues are allowed to decorate Dwarven Holds, usually to honour their contributions towards building it or leading a dwarven society.

Dwarven statues have been known to be removed from particularly public places for non-dwarven ancestries, which has created tensions and distrust amongst the dwarves.
