Whittar is a white stone possessing a magical fiery heat to it, not usually enough to start fires on its own until it strikes something hard, which temporarily increases the heat emitted. It has been known to be found in Vön. While it has been used for certain weapons as a rare material, it is in reality more commonly used as a way to keep warm, or to make pickaxes that are especially good at mining certain types of rock or ore that become brittle in response to heat.
