Newshore is one of the major settlements of Horiza, which has alongside Adamsworth overtaken Friedport in importance. It is governed by the Horizan Guild Association, as all settlements of note in Horiza are. Newshore is characterised by being settled on a large floodplain, with buildings built into the river itself, inspired by a base of Horizan Precursor buildings already sitting in it when settlers found the place. A series of rope cars connect to the Newshore Tower, allowing easier travel for those who can afford it.
Overlooking the city is the mountains and glacier of the Ivory Crown, from where the settlements’ rivers originate. Newshore is surrounded by farming of floodable crops. The river continues down into a marshy area that is particularly difficult to traverse, including a marshy forest, where few go except criminals, hunters and witches.
Newshore does have somewhat of a rivalry with Adamsworth, but is amenable to Friedport due to its importance as a hub connecting to the old world.

Cardinal Rackawn comes from Newshore, where he played at the underground music scene with his bandmate Rex Stormwind. Here Cardinal met a number of Desecrators, as well as the disgraced foreign Princess Ionelle.
