Vanderkact is a settlement usually found in the northern Red Desert, between Ferweth and Galae. It is notable for consisting of small mobile homes on wheels that allows the settlement to move around, like a nomadic herd. These mobile homes were invented and maintained by a lineage of amurrun descended from Saint Clover, the settlement’s patron saint, ending with Father Emeri.
Vanderkact, collecting and making use of Cacti, have trade ties to Cocatun. It has also helped move shipments of Cocoa from there to the world beyond - such as when the Zardoban Emperor was addicted to the stuff.
The myth of The Blare was central to Vanderkact.
