Temples, also known as Churches or Cathedrals, refers to both congregations of people with a similar Religion as well as the physical buildings they gather at. Temples are led by Holy People such as priests or Clerics. Champions are also often found at Temples acting as their protectors or swords to be sent out on missions.
Temples are either open to the public, to their members, or are highly exclusive to a specific ring or cult. Some are intentionally hard to reach or hidden, acting as Monasteries or hidden temples. Some guard secrets or artefacts, and as such are defended by various warriors, Creatures and traps of both mundane and Magical nature.
Funerals and Marriages are often performed at temples. Many temples have either graveyards next to them or catacombs under them, often to protect the dead from grave robbing or Necromancer.
Shrines of a religious nature are often related to temples.
Known physical temples include:
- That of the Icen Maiden’s Universal Temple in Philosophia.
- Possibly a lost Icen Maiden temple in Nagonkor, Vön or further west.
- The Archduchy of Longdawn is like an enormous Cathedral of a city with settlement formed around it.
- A tiny mobile church in Vanderkact, dedicated to Saint Clover.
- A church in Twinberry, which has been dedicated to both Saint Rowan and Saint Jonathan.
- A small church once known as Haven in the demiplane of Labyrinthia, ran by a sisterhood dedicated to the Golden Heart.
