Melda is a deceased veterinarian, and wife of Davian. In her early life, she attempted to hunt down a fabled Monster that ravaged the countryside outside Friedport. Unlike the others who wishes to hunt it, however, Melda believed the creature to be acting weird because of an injury, and sought to find and heal it. Seeing her bravery and love for life at once, this event is what caused Davian to fall in love with her.
After getting together, with Melda as a veterinarian and Davian an apothecary and doctor-in-training, the two would try to help as many people and animals as possible. They once worked at Amberhole.

After becoming acquainted with the The Landcrab Plot and helping them in their research of Gigantism around Friedport, Melda was attacked and killed alone in her own home by an agent of the Ocean King. A tree would sprout out around her corpse where she died, cracking open the small shack house from the inside. This would become a Shrine to nature and the Reedmother, as initially tended to by Gator Grippli.
