The “free” city of Kantby resides on the far eastern shore of the Flod isle.
Initially a small but mighty trading hub due to being the first and only one on the isle for a decade, the port had a great deal of growth that made it into a unofficially recognized city of Flod.
However, due to other markets propping up on the shores of Flod in the officially recognized lands of the Horde Lord and Steel Lord, the town quietly fell into disrepair having its only source of profits dwindle and disappear. Soon, the citizens rebelled and any remaining officials fled, with no one to take the mantle of reconnecting the town to official channels.
After the rebellion, it has become somewhat of an anarchistic commune with an elected governor. With its already built markets, stubborn burghers guilds, and nostalgia value, it has regained its trade hub status as war raged on in the northern parts of the isle and destabilized the very ports that took Kantby’s status in the past.
Kantby has a small military presence based solely on voluntary enlistment. With the governor’s power of the purse however, it also employs plenty of professional mercenaries, including adventurers.
The town is protected inland by stone walls built by an unknown sorcerer, along with a system of tidal sluice gates.
Its current governor is Sora Lockneed.
