Charisma is the ability of people to convince others, sometimes categorizable into a distinct charismatic art that attempts to exert power in different ways. Intimidation may be the oldest use of charisma, using the threat of force to avoid needing to use it. Deception and lying also seems to come quite naturally to many people, and has throughout history been an important way of getting a leg up over others, especially within fields of power such as politics and adventure. Diplomacy, the act of convincing without any obvious lies or threats is also very human, but has also developed its own traditions of rhetoric and methods, and has become an official trade maintaining relations between certain groups or states.
