Overview
The Strix are a rare humanoid sized bird-like people actually capable of limited, or with enough training even extensive, flight. They are known to be highly isolationist, like the Vanara and Orcs, acting out suspicion and even hatred against other humanoid societies. While there are Strix that leave their nests, they need to take time to learn and integrate into ‘civilised’ society, have relatively short life-spans, and rarely manage to produce an off-spring - and as such they remain a rare sight. Their illustrious forms and capability to fly however, sometimes compared to Angels, usually makes them quite the centre of attention when they do visit cities. The G’Mayun and Tengu may hold either contempt or awe for their larger flight-capable counterparts.
The Strix are known to build their communities in highly elevated and hard to reach places, and to learn to hunt for self-subsistence and only fight as a means of escape and not war. One place they occupy is certain cliffy mountains in the jungles of Mogxa, and at least one Strix tribe is known to inhabit Vilhun. The Strix are believed to come from the south of Eydwin, possibly where Kholo are from.
