Eydwin is a geographical term with a vague meaning and that only exists as an exonym (nobody calls their own lands Eydwinese), but which roughly starts at the south end of Canath and encompasses all the lands that follow. Depending on context, Eydwin is either included in the newer concept of Iduria - really just meaning the old world (which is to say not Horiza) - or not. Culturally, linguistically, religiously and historically, Eydwin has remained somewhat of an unknown factor to those to its north, despite the continued presence of trade and migration.

It has as such also been called the “Far World.”

Rarely the term excludes Talvas and the Veducian lands east of it, really just referring to the tribes and nomads living on the western end the lands south of Canath (Western Eydwin). These people do have a shared lineage, and some speculate that this is whom the term was initially referring to. It has also been in this more specifically cultural form been used to refer to the peoples of Brincanath, which are considered descendants of or related to the tribes and nomads of Eydwin to the south.

Eydwin then usually refers to:

  • Talvas.
  • Veducia.
  • Western Eydwin.
  • Whatever is further south.

But also can include:

  • The Rubyfirth Bay City States.
  • The southern Canathi borderlands.
  • Brincanath.
