The current is not to be considered implemented in lore yet, and is merely a placeholder, an early work in progress, or it is subject to a rework.
In the organisation of the Titans of Canath and Mogxa, it was long standard to treat the twenty-one most important Titans as especially important - it is these who are thought to have wielded official power over Haeven. The twenty-one for example always get icons of worship at any non-tiny Churches. Other Titans have existed, such as those with lesser power, those who only recently gained a Mantle but have no proper following or prestige, or those situated in other Religions. Only a few Titans throughout history have remained outside of the Twenty-One and yet wielded enormous power - the greatest example being God-King Idur - against which the Twenty-One served as more of a balancing coalition.
Within the Twenty-One, the Titans have at times organised into Trinities, which arrange themselves around a number of binaries. In these the enlightened third position is the synthesis or wise compromise between the two, usually represented by the oldest and wisest Titan. It is unknown whether this is merely a division of labour, a way to organise who gets to determine canon over which topics, or whether it has a real Divine Magic or Cosmological purpose.
Some trinities that have existed in the Twenty-One include:
- Agriculture and Metropolis, Greed and Generosity.
- Duty and Wellbeing, Wrath and Kindness.
- Invention and Consequence, Gluttony and Temperance.
- Paths and Destinies, Pride and Humility.
- Relationships and Hierarchy, Lust and Love.
- Samsara and the Veil, Envy and Charity.
- Will and Power, Sloth and Zeal.
Part of the inciting incident of the early War Over Haeven was the Triumphant Successor’s pursuit of a role in the Twenty-One, alongside his brother the Grand Scheme.
It is speculated that the Twenty-One used to be Twenty-Nine in the past, but that it was changed after a troublesome set of Titans were removed and erased from history. These Forgotten Eight are a topic discussed in Occult Magic circles. The Twenty-Nine may have also been organised under a High Four representing the Arcane, Divine, Occult and Primal.
