One of the Cosmology, widely believed to be a plane of Hel. It is commanded by the Devil Queen atop a temple city sitting on an island in a “river of blood.” It’s believed to be engaged in a Bloodwar with the Demonic Brigade occupying the distant desert around it.

Creation of Crimson.

The Guardian Angel of Haeven had been tasked with fighting to win the War Over Haeven for the Titans at any cost. Ever true to her word, even as the Titans seemingly had began to accept defeat and prepared for their exile, she continued to fight for said cause to the fullest extent she could. Her battles in Galae had led her on a strategic retreat, trying to draw the tired anti-deity troops into the inhospitable desert of northern Galae (now the Crimson Desert). Amongst the army that had laid chase to her was the infamous Demonic Brigade, nicknamed so for their horrific acts committed upon their enemies, prisoners and the lands which they passed through. The Brigade is said to have embraced this name with glee.

Here, the Guardian Angel descended upon the weary brigade from above, and cleaved the lands in two -opening a great wound in the desert - which began to eat the enemies alive as the sands pulled them towards it. It initially glowed with a bright white light, turned orange as it was sated by masses of bodies, ending with a soft red glow once the deed was done. Most who attempted to flee on horse or camelback were shot by flying angels armed with Firearms. The collective blood spilled upon that day is said to have stained the desert red. On the other side, lies the Plane of Crimson.

Few have returned to the crimson scar or mapped it exactly, as the desert’s inhospitality has now been greatly enhanced, and few dare to risk encountering the devils, demons or blood storms that may emerge from it. Some whom claim to have visited the crimson scar speak of a deafening heartbeat-like sound as they approached, and an inexplicable urge to approach and dive in.

Description of the Plane.

Those who claim to have gone to, heard of or magically scried the plane largely describe it as such.

At the centre of Crimson is the Halfmoon Isle, upon which most of the City of Crimson (occasionally called Crimsonia) sits. The isle is roughly shaped like a half-moon, and sits amidst a wide river of red water or blood. It is said one side of the river is largely under devil control, whereas the other is inhabited by surviving and now actually demonic members of the Demonic Brigade. The highest point of the isle and city itself is the Devil Queen’s temple, and elevation of a street and thus proximity to the temple largely corresponds with class and importance. The lands themselves are said to be desert-like, though with plenty of rocks and crags of sandstone and similar, all of which in various tints of red. Many descriptions are horrified by seeing body parts sticking out of the terrain - it is uncertain whether this is inherent to the plane or whether these are merely the bodies caused by the creation of Crimson and its subsequent war. The terrain is constantly dimly lit. The sky is described as dark and cloudy, not giving off a true impression of depth or distance. Occasional beams of light shine from above like god rays. A variety of succulent plants as well as palm trees are said to grow in this plane. Some describe seeing coconuts being cracked upon to an inside more akin to vividly red and orange passion fruit.
