Festivals, events and holidays are a way in which various settlements and people groups celebrate various things - often those of historical or cultural importance. Many festivals are annual, happening each year, though some are celebrated only on important milestones, such as 50 or 100 years after an event, or are perhaps elevated in importance during such milestones.

Festivals across many parts of the world include:

  • Celebration of the Draconic Concordat, though dates vary a bit between areas due to disagreements over exact dates.

In Mogxa, many festivals and celebrations see the release of flying Sky Lanterns, as well as the use of Fireworks. Festivals in Mogxa include:

  • Annual celebrations of the victory over the Titans, especially important in Titansfell.
  • Annual burning of effigies of the Kobold Throne in Houville.
  • An annual festival amongst the Draconic Tribes that was declared during the Western Kobold Dynasty, as a way to value instead of suppress their draconic heritage. Controversial amongst outsiders, it’s usually done where it can be kept exclusive and away from prying or easily offended eyes.
  • An annual Cannon-firing on top of a fortress in Dreyus, celebrating the military engineer whom founded the city but had his life ruined by false accusations.

Festivals in Friedport, the Chocolate Isles, and sometimes rest of Horiza include:

  • The Summer Games, a publicly beloved tournament akin to free Gladiator fighting. It starts one day after the first rains of (later) summer begin, which itself is celebrated with a variety of dances and other build-up to the games.
  • The Flowering Ceremony, a time in which the arrival of most flora’s flowering is celebrated by being used as decorations on people’s clothes, around one’s homes and shops, and as flower crowns.
  • The Great Public Alefeast, a celebration during which people move their tables and chairs outside, putting them together with others on the same street, and enjoying a meal together.
