A term for the deific figures at the centre of Canathi, Galae, Ferwethi and Mogxan religion. Usually described as having the heads of animals and bodies of humanoids, often human, but sometimes other animalistic species. Said to have originated from the First Ascended, whom was a human that learned to turn his body parts into those of animals - such as his head. However, their appearances, as well as names, are hard to pin down as they have appeared differently to different mortals lucky enough to have encountered them.

The term titan has also been applied to figures outside of Canathi religions, such as the One & Only of Vilhun, or sometimes even the Hun Lords (though this is viewed as blasphemic to Vilhuni, whom are not supposed to equate the status of the One and Only with the Lords). This is not a term usually used by local practitioners of such religions, though scholars may agree on the similarities and use the term.

It is said all titans were exiled from Materia with the destruction of the Rainbow Bridge, marking the beginning of the The Great Silence.

Mantle Reverence

“Timeless Titan” is a term used for the oldest of Titans that have still not undergone Reverence but still carry much weight in modern religion.
