Jed is an island that divides The Rend and/or the Rubyfirth Bay. It has long been considered the ultimate crossroads between the civilisations of Canath, Mogxa and Talvas, as well as perhaps the people of Galae and Nagonkor.
The island of Jed has since the conquests of God-King Idur served as an official place of exchange between civilisations, in terms of commerce, language and culture and more. Jed predominantly speaks the Idurian language that serves as the court and commercial language of many of its neighbours, even amongst the common folk. Jed can be considered the last inheritor of a uniquely mixed Canathi-Mogxan culture.
The largest settlement on Jed is the city of Jedaia. Jedaia is home to the official headquarters of the Horizan Guild Association, as well as a large Forgotten Dawn office.
Not long before the March of the Corpse Flowers, the Crusaders made an incursion onto the island of Jed. This angered the Horizan Guild (despite the fact they were never involved in official hostilities), which was built on an understanding of peace and neutrality. The Crusaders failed to quickly capture the island however, including the city of Jedaia, whose citizens now continue to wage war against the Crusaders hiding in its jungles.
