The Landcrab Plot was a recent series of conspiracies, murders and rebellions with the aim of breaking Friedport free from the Horizan Guild Association. While the Landcrabs that supported the plot saw it as a way to regain their tribes and political power, the Desecrators were so heavily involved in the plot it is likely that it would’ve lead to Crusader dominance of the city rather than Landcrab liberation. Related is Operation Blackout, an earlier Crusader plot to separate Friedport from Sanitationist control that eventually morphed into the brewing landcrab rebellion.

Despite many efforts to uncover and stop the plot, the rebellion started during the Summer Games. However, likely unbeknownst to most who supported it, a large amount of fungus-bearing Golems were released upon the city to break the ranks of the guards. These golems seemingly slaughtered indiscriminately, however, and quickly turned the situation into one of terror. A magical sphere was put over the city by the Magus in the High Tower, preventing any people or golems for leaving until the threat was contained.

The The Landcrab Plot, having just won the Summer Games, rapidly returned to the city to try to save it. Most visible of them was Cardinal Rackawn, whom arrived early and made a spectacle of killing the golems. After the source of the golems was located and destroyed, the Newcomers, and especially Cardinal, were celebrated as heroes.

In light of the ruin caused to the city, and the fact that General Kard of the Uniforms appears to have died during the events, the tripartite government of the city dissolved. Kiam Lockneed fled the city, and a new system was negotiated with the aid of Ashur Holdok, Dobi and Councilman Redd.
