Bande Aparte is a scruffy hobgoblin soldier and investigator dedicated to Truth. Born somewhere in rural Canath 1222 ADc, Bande Aparte became a commander in the Crusader Army of General Architrave. Being at the right place at the right time, he was called in to serve in the rapid March of the Roses, which took advantage of leaked intel from Mogxa to destroy a covert Sanitationist camp and capture the infamous sanitationist Chaucer. Having earned a name for himself here, he went on to serve in the March of the Corpse Flowers and managed to against the odds eek out a victory in the difficult siege of Galaekor thanks to his talent for logistics and organisation. While the campaign itself was for naught, Bande Aparte had proven his skills and gained a band of soldiers under his command.
Despite his efficacy, Bande Aparte was committed to his men and attempting to fight justly, and never rose far in the ranks. After getting too close to the truth of his own General Architrave’s corruption, he was almost killed in a staged ambush. Believed his closest comrade in arms Lykas had actually been killed for it, and that the rest of his men were in danger because of him, Bande Aparte disappeared himself.

Landing in Friedport, Bande Aparte became acquainted with Gator Grippli and Ashur Holdok, whom he began working with as the The Landcrab Plot. In Friedport, Bande Aparte stood trial over the false allegations of having smuggled the Vestitur Relics to Friedport, during which the newcomers managed to uncover the respected local tavernkeep Auldwell Fareawel as Perckle d’Ritz, a smuggler, and a secret crusader partisan. Eventually having to temporarily fake his own death to save his comrades, Bande Aparte’s contributions played an essential role in uncovering and stopping the Landcrab Plot, as well as locating the missing Vestitur Relics. As part of this, Bande Aparte had also put an end to Operation Blackout, the final brainchild of General Architrave to take over Horiza for the Crusaders.
Unbeknownst to Bande Aparte until the end of the plot, his trusted comrade Lykas had survived back in the old world, and together with many of Bande Aparte’s former soldiers created the secretive Moonless Night. Inspired by their former leader, the Moonless Night worked to uncover corruption and conspiracy. Their most important achievement was getting General Architrave sentenced to death for his crimes.
